Alwyn Scott is director of corporate positioning at Allstate, based in New York. He leads the teams responsible for CEO, financial and sustainability communications, corporate partnerships and thought leadership.

He previously worked as a journalist in industries ranging from tech and aerospace to manufacturing and finance.

During 10 years at Dow Jones, he worked as an editor at The Wall Street Journal and as an editor, bureau chief and reporter at Dow Jones Newswires, with postings in London, Bangkok and Brussels.

A team he led was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2010 for a series about the mortgage crisis and the downfall of Washington Mutual, the largest bank failure in U.S. history.

At Reuters, he led coverage of mergers-and-acquisitions, Wall Street investigations, hedge funds, private equity and wealth management as finance editor for the Americas.

He also covered General Electric, Boeing, manufacturing, renewable energy and aerospace at Reuters, and taught  financial statement analysis at Reuters and elsewhere.

As managing editor of the Puget Sound Business Journal, he led the staff to win 18 national awards in four years.

As a business projects reporter at The Seattle Times, he covered technology, internet companies and globalization.
